Michael Halloran
President and CEO

Guiding the strategic direction of NES, Michael delivers a track record in building high-growth organizations and expertise in enterprise-class real-time technology solutions for use in financial risk management, compliance, and sales and marketing segments. Michael’s background includes executing integrated marketing strategies for brands such as Intel, Microsoft, Charles Schwab, Nikon and other major US corporations.

   
   
Dan Yoder
Chief Operating Officer

Dan joins Nationwide Exchange Services with over 30 years of broad operating experience including client engagements with a wide range of private and public companies such as IBM, HP, Nokia, Ericsson and Samsung to improve business process and operational efficiencies. Most recently, Dan was the Chief Operating Officer of IC Media. At NES Dan focuses on the deployment and management of mission-critical exchange infrastructure, corporate operations, and compliance management. Mr. Yoder holds a BSEE from the University of Santa Clara.
   
   
Rick McEachern
Chief Marketing Officer

With over 20 years of experience, Rick McEachern is responsible for the overall marketing and business development at NES. He has extensive marketing and strategic alliance knowledge having held senior-level positions at Cendura, Jareva Technologies, Verbatix and Apple Computer. McEachern is a MBA graduate of Baylor University and continues to serve on corporate and advisory boards for Silicon Valley startups.
   
   
Kelly Alton
Senior Vice President, General Counsel

Kelly is responsible for providing legal oversight, tax guidance and consultative services.

Kelly has over 25 years of experience in federal taxation. Prior to joining NES, she was a Senior Manager in the Washington National Tax office of Deloitte Tax LLP for over five years, where she specialized in all aspects of like-kind exchanges. Prior to Deloitte, she held various management positions in the National Office of the IRS Office of Chief Counsel in Washington, DC. In this role, she wrote rulings and regulations of national application, as well as taxpayer specific guidance, with a particular emphasis on like-kind exchange issues. Additionally, Kelly was a principal author of Rev. Proc. 2000-37 (safe harbor parking arrangements/reverse like-kind exchanges) and participated in the development of the IRS position on the qualification of tenancy-in-common interests under §1031. She was engaged in private tax practice for nine years in Chicago and New York City before joining the IRS.

Kelly holds a B.A. in mathematics from Boston University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. She is admitted to the California Bar, Illinois Bar and Tax Court, and is a member of the American Bar Association Tax Section and chair of the Section 1031 subcommittee of the ABA Sales, Exchanges and Basis committee.

   
   
Scott Nathanson
Senior Vice President, Central US Operations

Most recently President of Cole Taylor Deferred Exchange Corp., Scott brings extensive 1031, banking and legal expertise to bear at NES.  Scott ran the $4 billion trust operations of Cole Taylor Bank, is an attorney, and built Cole Taylor Deferred Exchange Corp. into one of the top-producing qualified intermediaries in the Midwest.  Scott is responsible for the Midwestern operations of NES.
   
   
Martin Artiano
Senior Vice President

Prior to his current role, Marty worked with NES as a business development consultant for a year and led our successful Washington DC-based lobbying effort in opposition to the enactment of proposed Reg. 468[b]. Before this, Mr. Artiano founded and served as VP corporate and business development for two high-tech companies in Silicon Valley. From 1980 through 1990, Mr. Artiano was a senior partner of Washington, DC based Anderson, Hibey, Nauheim and Blair, a firm representing Fortune 500 companies on corporate matters ranging from tax and transactions to administrative and legislative issues pending before the Executive and Legislative branches. In 1976, Mr. Artiano served as personal aide to Presidential Candidate Ronald Reagan. In 1980, he was a Deputy Director, Operations, of President Reagan's campaign, and served on the White House and State Department transition teams.

Steven I. Cooper
SVP and Chief Information Officer of the
American Red Cross

Currently with the American Red Cross, Cooper is the former CIO for the United States Department of Homeland Security and spent over 20 years in the private sector as CIO for Corning, Inc. and Director of Information Technology of Eli Lilly and Company. Steven’s wealth of technology expertise in highly integrated operational environments is a tremendous asset to NES as the company continues to grow as one of the industry’s leading 1031 providers. 

   
   

Michael Hershman

As an industry luminary, Michael is an internationally recognized expert on matters relating to transparency, accountability, governance and security. His combination of public and private sector experience gives him a unique perspective that will serve NES well as the company continues to raise the bar in the 1031 industry.

Currently, he is the President and CEO of The Fairfax Group. Founded in 1983, Fairfax assists governments, corporations and international financial institutions on corruption investigations of senior level officials and serves as the appointed Monitor of Companies which have violated laws, rules or regulations.

   
   
Bob McEwen
Former United States Congressman

Elected to represent Ohio's Sixth District in the United States House of Representatives in 1980, Bob has served as a Special Presidential Envoy for Presidents Reagan and Bush, and held two of the most coveted positions in the US Congress, the Select Committee on Intelligence and the House Committee on Rules.
